Therapy for Expats
individual counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling
Take care of yourself abroad

Living in a different country can be difficult.
Some people compare living abroad to constantly living with a low-grade fever. Struggling with a new language, different ways of doing things, cultural misunderstandings and a general lack of knowledge on how the system works can leave you feeling exhausted. I myself have been living abroad for over a decade now and it has not been easy.
Since 2014 I have been working with expats from all over the world (35 different countries) and I know very well the unique problems they face. I work with families, couples and individuals struggling with a variety of different issues whether it is navigating raising children as third culture kids, maintaining a cross-cultural relationship, dealing with culture shock, the dynamics of a trailing spouse or partner or struggling with deep isolation and loneliness living away from your home community. I would be honored to help you navigate through these difficulties.
Why Therapy?
Everyone gets stuck at some point in their life and can benefit from therapy to help get unstuck. Whether in a temporary setback or a major life crisis, therapy provides a safe place to share, get support and find creative new solutions to old problems.
Therapy helps us gain insight into dynamics that may be affecting us without our even knowing about them. We all have blind spots, and with the help of a trained counselor we can come to better understand the ways in which our thought and behavior patterns may be causing harm to ourselves and others we love. As a trainer coaches a runner on their running form, a psychotherapist can make valuable observations from an outside perspective.
